Sister Violet Abraham was born in a Christian family to Pastor C. Moses and Mrs. Sarojamma. She grew up as a strong believer with a tender heart for the poor and needy.
Although she experienced lots of difficulty and poverty in her childhood, God called her to care for others – especially for those living in the slums in Bangalore.
In 2010, Sister Violet and her husband Dr. K.K. Abraham adopted two children, and when news spread of their generosity, they found more and more children abandoned on their doorstep. Some had lost their families to illness, while others’ families simply couldn’t feed them.
Before long, thirty children beyond their own, from 3- to 14-years-old, shared Abraham and Violet’s house rented on the outskirts of town - thius began Violet's Children's Home.
